WHS is proud to offer the most comprehensive subject choice in Namibia.

This gives our learners the necessary knowledge and skills to enter the job market, confident to take on the best and come out on top.

 

Over and above the normal subjects, our curriculum also includes the following extra components: Entrepreneurial skills, Information Technology for learners in grade 8 -10, 24 hour access to Internet, AutuCAD for learners taking Technical Drawing, Turbo Cash for learners taking Accounting, Word Processing for learners taking Typing and a special Mathematics programme helping learners to practice the basic skills.

Every grade 8 student will have 9 subjects which will include, 5 compulsory subjects, 2 languages in combination and 2 non-compulsory subjects.

The 5 compulsory subjects are:

  • Mathematics

The 2 languages in combination are:

  • English 1st Language and Afrikaans 2nd Language  

  • Afrikaans 1st Language and English 1st Language

  • All subject combinations depend on whether it will fit into the rooster.

WHS Aftercare

Our Aftercare is a serene, quiet environment for your child to do their homework successfully. 

Not only an extra class, but the teacher on duty can be asked for assistance if your child is struggling. 

 

  • Aftercare starts at 14:00 – 16:30 with a 30 min break at 15h00.

  • Aftercare is facilitated from Monday to Thursday every week.

  • All children are responsible for their own food.

  • There is a tuck shop at school with delicious and affordable food after school.

  • Arrangements for sport activities or any other activities can be made.

  • Please note, the learner will only be permitted to go if the parents or guardians have made prior arrangements.

  • Kindly send a message should your child be absent for the Aftercare session.

  • Cell phones are not allowed to be kept with the learners. Should you need to pick your child up earlier you are welcome to inform the teacher on duty. o Learners are welcome to use their phones during the break time.

  • All learners are expected to have a homework diary in which all homework for the day must be recorded.

The monthly fee is N$400 until December 2025 for 4 days Monday-Thursday or N$300 per month for 2 or 3 days per week, provided there are no other learners that require 4 days aftercare. This is payable in the first week of every month with

Ms Schoeman.

 

Payments can be made either in cash, by means of PayToday or directly into the specific Bank Account. (Will provide details on request privately.) A receipt will be made out for all payments. An Aftercare WhatsApp group has been formed for urgent arrangements when necessary.
